Apples speech in assembly

I was asked along with Maddy,Deklyn,Heidi. to do this speech we said this speech in our whole school assembly.

Kepler class has won the apple competition with new World for term 2. Every week we get 60 apples - for free…. royale gayla, eve, granny smith, ambrosia. Yum yum.

You can only eat so many apples so we had to find different ways of using them….

• Baking - apple pie, apple crumble, toffee apples, spiced apple muffins …. And we bring in some for the teachers to try EVERY DAY! *Heidi & Maddy

• Maths - making apple arrays in multiplication, calculating how much they cost and weigh, divided apples by classes……. There is a lot of maths with apples!.
• 
  
• Charity - we looked at who we could share our apples with…. The Ellesmere Food Bank. They came and collected 60 apples and heaps of big cans of baked beans so they can give them to people with no food.

We have a good idea that you could help with…..

This is a box that will be in the office, that you could put feijoas or other fruit off your trees, veggies from your garden or spare cans of food. The Food Bank will come by and collect it.   

Winning all our apples has reminded us that we need to share with other people.

Ban Fortnite for kids!

Should Fortnite be banned for kids?
No it should not be banned because they can stay safe if the follow these rules from a cyber safety expert John Parsons.

You should play online games in your living room because your bedroom is private. Parents need to know you are playing or something bad could happen.  

Never play with strangers because your can never know who they truly are. This is a 12+ game and could be dangerous if you don't follow these rules.                          

Keep your chin up and be in control of your information in the Internet.

1. Don't talk about anything other than the game.

2. If people are rude - never respond.

3. Never share your personal details online. 

Teacher Whaea Allana thinks that it is up to parents to make this decision with their children but the 12+ age limit is there for a reason. 

So as you can see, while some people are worried about safety on Fortnite, if you follow these rules, you should be able to keep your personal details safe online.

Ancient Egypt

Hi this is my Cartouche in hieroglyphics. As you see my name is Max.  Our class are figuring out about Ancient Egypts Tombs and Mummies. We figured out that Osiris was the first Mummy. Our class are imagining that we are a team of Archaeologist's. I designed the logo and name with my friend. 

Before we travel to Egypt, we will need to book flights, book Accomodation, get what we need to get some equipment for digging the tomb, figuring out when Ramadan is. Thank god we were are imagining this or this would be a lot of work.

MAYHEM

Me and my family were going to the airport to go to France from New Zealand so we all hopped on the plane.

Finally the plane took off and we were in the air. I was watching my movie maze runner and I really wanted to go to the toilet but I was in a really good bit in my movie. So I had to pause my movie. I went to to the toilet with my brother ( we were twins and we were twelve ) so we opened the door it said OUTSIDE ! So we went through and we were standing on the wing of the plain and we slipped off we were in the sky.

We surprisingly had skydiving gear on. We were above the sea we put our parachute on we both saw the island so we got to the island. We saw a little hut and a coconut tree. Charlie and I got the coconuts from the coconut tree and stacked them up in the hut. Well we were in the hut there were to beds a kitchen and other food. We suspected that other people were here.

We looked around the whole place no one. We went back to the hut and i saw a body and another and it kinda looked like mum and dad. It was mum and dad they told us they were on vacation and they hired look alikes to take us. We had steak for dinner and we had to share beds.

We woke up in the morning and mum and dad weren’t in the hut and there was a big noise outside…

They were leaving without us we ran outside and tried to get on. We jumped and I got fingertips on but Charlie didn’t
I jumped off ( I didn’t want to leave him by himself on the island ) into the sea and swam back into Charlie. When i was dry i suggested that we should make that we should make a sign saying HELP made with palm leaves.

After that we had a nap. We woke up and went round the island to get some food and we found a pig and cooked it over the fire. We ate some pork sausages and bacon for dinner and put our feet in the water and hoped that mum and dad would come back for us.

We woke up and there was a Helicopter landing on the beach, we came over “ hop in we are going to New Zealand ” they murmured we ran into the hut and grabbed everything we needed, we raced into the helicopter lift off.

We were just above the west coast and we stopped to get a bite to eat. I got a BLT and a coke and Charlie got pancakes and sprite.

We got back on and flew to Christchurch. So us both were back home and we thanked the men and they flew off. Charlie and I got the controllers and played some cricket on the XBox
After that we tried to call mum and dad.
2 calls no answer we tried one more time and it had a message saying we are DEAD…

We couldn't sleep we were both thinking about  mum and dad. It was the middle of the night and I just got some ice cream and played some XBOX to get mum and dad off my mind. But I looked at my phone and it said 12:02 and 24 December 2020 it was the day before christmas we had to do everything for Christmas because we are holding Christmas at our house.

I woke up Charlie and said we need to get ready for Christmas because we are holding christmas, we need to do a chicken, eclairs, sausages and even decorations we need to hurry. I quickly got the sausages out and put the barbecue, charlie put the chicken in the oven. It was mental.

I finished the sausages and so i went to the eclairs. Get the cream and get the pastry. The chicken was taking more than we expected. The time was 2:07 we still needed to put the christmas tree up and decorate the house.

Finally we finished the food 3:25. We rushed to the garage and grabbed the christmas tree and got the decorations. We zoomed to the living room and put the bottom third on and twigged them into the right place. Got the second third and twigged all the branches in right place. Finally got the the third bit on and got all the branches in the right bit and finally got to the decorations put the angel on top, put the light around the tree, put some memories on, put some burbles on and some tinsel on FINISHED. We hopped back into bed and checked the time 5:00 got to sleep.

The Beach

Today my birthday was at the beach. Will and I got in our togs and ran straight into the water with our boogie boards. We were finally out far enough for some big waves. Will and I saw the biggest wave we have ever seen. Somehow we wanted to ride it. So we got in position but looked back one more time. It was about to crash on us we were about to get pummeled over but the life guards were there and the wave splashed down on the life guards and they died with blood everywhere.

So we swum in and told the police. Surprisingly the police went out to get the life guards and another big wave smashed down on the police they died to with blood everywhere. The police got a helicopter a grabbed the dead policemen and the dead lifeguards. It was a very weird birthday.
